Purchased this string trimmer today from a local retailer. Have a .25 acre lot and wanted something lightweight for general lawn trimming around fences, house, rock garden, etc. (We have a heavy duty gas trimmer for the tough stuff, but it is too heavy for me to safely use). It has lots of power but I feel we will be lucky if it lasts more than a couple of weeks!! The "auto feed" worked only once, right out of the box. From then on, we had to unplug and manually feed the line or remove the cap and re-thread the line about every minute. A real pain! It edges nicely, but the string breaks if it hits anything solid such as a wooden fence board. The shaft is wobbly and I expect the rotating feature will break soon. It was a $40 purchase, so we didn't expect a lot of bells and whistles, but this thing is basically crap!

I used this trimmer for about a month and first noticed an electrical smell upon plugging it in. I used it every 2 weeks for a month and today it started smoking and burned out the motor. Wasn't using an extension cord or plugging it into an incompatible outlet. I used it for a small fenced in yard area. Another poor quality product made in China.
